The devastation left in the wake of hurricane Helene and hurricane Milton can be felt throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.
Families throughout our communities have lost their homes, belongings, and precious family memories. Help us ensure they don’t also have to face losing a beloved family pet.
With so many hurdles in the path to recovery, additional pet associated costs can become insurmountable. Unexpected expenses like replacing pet beds and food lost to flooding, or a pet deposit on a new residence can lead families to make the impossible choice to give up their pet. Some families are unable to bring their pet to a temporary location, but are unable to afford short term boarding.
More than 14,500 people and 1,219 pets were sheltered during Hurricane Milton alone, and many more are seeking out support as rescues continue taking place.
